How to Make the Zombie Couple Video: Two Photos, Three Minutes (2026)

How to make the viral zombie couple AI video from two photos: which photo turns, the three beats, what it costs, how long it takes, and the two ways to do it (Google Flow yourself, or one button here).

The short answer

Making the zombie couple video takes two photos and about three minutes: put the person who turns into the zombie in the first slot, the survivor in the second, keep Street reunion selected, and tap Make my zombie couple video. The AI renders the three beats, the walk out of the fog, the recognition and hug, and the cut to the sunny memory, as a vertical clip for TikTok and Reels. One video is $6.99, paid once, and a render that fails is never charged. If you would rather do it by hand, the Google Flow route is below.

Step 1: Pick who turns

The first photo always plays the zombie, the second is the survivor who recognises them. Most couples put the one who would "come back for you" as the survivor. Use one clear, front-facing photo of each person; they can be taken in different places and years apart.

  • Face fully visible, no sunglasses or masks
  • Good light, in focus; a normal phone photo is ideal
  • Everyday clothes: they carry over, torn and dusty on the zombie side and clean in the memory

Step 2: Pick a template

Street reunion is the classic: ruined street, fog, flashlight lowered, hug, cut to the field. Kitchen table, The cabin and Golden field are the same story in a different place. I turned is the one-photo Halloween version, Halloween party and Trick or treat are the costume-night ones, and Zombie pet takes one photo of a dog or cat.

Step 3: Quality, length and who you are

The default is 720p, 8 seconds, vertical, which fits all three beats; 5 seconds stops before the cut to the memory. Open Quality & length to pick Pro motion, a longer clip or a square format; the price next to each option is the price of the video with it. The optional line, who you two are, changes how they look at each other, never the on-screen text.

Step 4: Make it, then post it

Tap the button. If you are not signed in you will be asked to sign in first; with no credits yet you pick a pack and the render starts the moment you are back. About three minutes later the clip is ready to download as an MP4. Post it vertical and add the trend's sound in the app.

Doing it yourself in Google Flow

If you have a Flow (Veo) or Gemini subscription you can make it by hand: upload the two photos as references, paste a prompt that names which photo is the zombie and which is the survivor, describes the fog, the lowered flashlight, the hug and the match cut to a sunny field, and ask for 9:16. Expect several tries before both faces hold through the cut, and keep weapons, blood and biting out of the prompt or the model will decline it. Our prompt page has a version you can copy.

Troubleshooting

Most problems come from the photos.

  • "The safety filter flagged this photo": pick one in everyday clothes with the face clearly visible. Nothing is charged.
  • The wrong person turned: swap the two photos; the first slot is always the zombie.
  • It doesn't look like us: better light and straight-on angles help most; avoid heavy filters and group shots.
  • It failed while rendering: the credits are back on your balance; try again or pick another template.

Questions

Do I need an app or Google Flow?+

No. It runs in your phone's browser and gives you a vertical MP4 to post anywhere.

Which photo becomes the zombie?+

The first slot, always. Swap the photos to flip the roles.

Can I use a photo of someone else?+

Only with their permission, and never a minor without a guardian's consent.
